A Little About the Artist
Art has always been more than something I create. It has been a place to find myself.
Growing up in Sonoma County, California, my early life held its share of uncertainty and change. During a time when stability was not always easy to find, art became an outlet - a place where I could express myself, feel understood, and discover something in myself to be proud of. I was fortunate to have art teachers who saw something in my work and encouraged me to keep creating. Their belief in me made a lasting impression, and I still carry that with me today.
Around the age of eleven, I moved to Wyoming with my mom, where I spent the rest of my childhood. Those years were difficult, and much of that time holds painful memories. But art became something I could turn to when life felt overwhelming. It gave me a way to express feelings I didn't always have words for and find moments of happiness when I needed them most. It was one of the places where I felt seen, and that has stayed with me throughout my life.
I found myself drawn to the beauty of Wyoming's skies, especially its sunsets. Watching the colors change at the end of the day helped me discover my love of color and showed me that beauty can exist alongside difficult things. It's a feeling I still carry with me whenever I paint.
I eventually returned to California as an adult, bringing those experiences and my love of art with me. In high school, I was passionate about ceramic pottery and was fortunate to receive awards for my work. Around the age of nineteen, I began painting, and it has remained a passion ever since.
Today, my work is guided by a love of color, emotion, and the beauty I find in the world around me. I'm drawn to the way colors can change a feeling, bring a subject to life, or transform an ordinary moment into something memorable. Whether I'm painting a beloved pet, a landscape, or something born from my imagination, I want each piece to feel expressive, personal, and full of life.
I believe the world deserves more beauty, and that art has the power to help us feel, connect, and see things a little differently. Through my paintings, I hope to bring a little more color, joy, and wonder into the lives of the people who welcome my work into theirs.
Thank you for being here, for taking the time to learn a little about me, and for making space for art in your world.
